Being Built Together in Oneness
There are just not enough words to express my enjoyment of the Lord since meeting with the local church.
After becoming a Christian in January of 1973 I began reading my Bible and seeking after the Lord with my whole heart. When I shared my experience of salvation and new relationship with the Lord where I was going to church, I had hardly any response. During this time I was also meeting with a couple who were also recent Christians, and we met as often as we could with our Bibles open and our hearts turned to the Lord. We prayed that the Lord would show us all He was and to keep bringing us closer to Himself. That fall, as an answer to those prayers, we were led by the Lord to the local church where I have remained since.
In the book of John, chapter 17, Jesus prayed: “That they all may be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us” (v. 21a). I was beginning to experience being practically in the Body of Christ and being grounded in the Word. Besides being in the Word and fellowship continually, I was exposed to writings by Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. All of these just led me into the Word more and more, and I realized that the purpose of my life was to be filled with Christ-to express Him on the earth with other Christians being built together in oneness (Ephesians 3:19, 2:21-22). This eventually will bring the Lord back.
It is awesome to meet with other Christians who also love the Lord with their whole being.
